I am looking to get a Dog what breed do you recomend if I have Cats and Chickens already.?
I have a 4 – 3 acre wooded area
It depends, do you prefer short haired, or do you care? I really like the Great Pyranees and the Greater Swiss Mountain dog for big open land.

NOT a terrier, herding dog or a sighthound – these dogs are bred to chase chickens, cats, vermin etc.
A more laidback dog such as a Great Dane or Golden Retriever will suit your needs. Having all that yard space means you have great room for a large dog to excercise.
I personally recommend rescuing (as long as the dog has been tested with cats and other animals) because it is rewarding for both dog and owner, and because many mutts make great dogs of all kinds.

An Australian Cattle dog or a Boston Terrier would be two really good options. I own an australian cattle dog and my grandpa owns a boston terrier. They are both amazing breeds, and since you have all the space for the dogs, it will make them that much better. They are both seen on farms and the australian cattle dog is especially used for herding. I LOVE THEM BOTH.
